jeux classiques

on

Six weeks later still stuck in quarantine, my family and I have found new ways to entertain ourselves and for the last two weeks it has been games.

We have many favorite games but a classic we always play is Sequence. It is a strategy board game where you have to create three, rows of five with your color chip. You place your chip according to the playing card in your hand. You can either play with three people or in teams of two. There are four people in my family, so when we play in teams it can get quite competitive.

Another skill game that we play is called Codenames. Your teammate sits across from you while there are words in between you both. One of the teammates gives you a clue word that you use to guess certain words on the table in front of you. You compete against the other team to see who gets all their words first without guessing the assassin that ends the whole game. I love this game, it is one of my absolute favorites. It is so funny trying to guess what words the other person is thinking and we get quite competitive about how many clue words you are allowed to say. I love sitting around the table laughing and yelling at each to pick the right words.

Lastly another old but good game my sister and I love to play is Monopoly. Our game board is a theme of the national parks that we have been playing for years. I am always the banker and there are certain properties that each of us try to get or are known to win the game with, so it’s fun trying to stop the other person from getting it. It is a fair game between her and I unless my dad tries to help her win. Overall it’s fun to see how each game is going to turn out.

I found while writing this blog that it is hard to describe how each game works but I did the best I could. These games have helped us be more entertained during these self-quarantine times. I am glad that I have my family to quarantine with me.
