Hello viewers! I’m Sophia Dirksen, a 15 year old sophomore at Santa Barbara High School. I have started this blog as a part of the Multimedia Arts and Design Academy here. This is a guide to the beautiful town of Santa Barbara I call home. I was born and raised here, grew up digging sandcastles at Leadbetter Beach to learning how to ride a bike (and later drive) at Santa Barbara City College. I love Santa Barbara and can’t wait to share with you my favorite spots as well as explore new ones with friends.

I live on the Mesa, just a block away from the beach. My friends and I go to the beach almost every weekend to go paddle boarding or have a picnic. Sometimes we go to the harbor and to get coffee and catch up. I love trying new and local seafood as well as checking out local organic businesses and fashion boutiques. Ask any of my friends, I love ice cream, like I am constantly craving it. I have never met ice cream that I didn’t like and my favorite ice cream place is right downtown.
